Trevor Stokes - Executive Director of Business Development

Trevor Stokes joined the Economic Development Board in January 2009 as the new Executive Director of Business Development. In this role he is responsible for strategically and operationally directing the EDB’s business development both in the Financial Services and Non Financial Services sectors.
Prior to joining EDB Trevor was the CEO of Amex (Middle East) B.S.C.(c) where he managed American Express’ Card and Service Establishment business across 18 countries in the Middle East, North Africa and the Levant. Before that, he spent eighteen months running American Express Travel in Egypt and most of his career in marketing and general management roles mainly in the FMCG industry with companies such as Unilever and Inchcape Middle East.
Trevor has an Economics degree and his early specialization was Sales & Brand Marketing and his area of geographic expertise has become the Middle East and North Africa. Trevor has spent over 25 years living and working in the Middle East, half of which has been in Bahrain. Prior to his return to Bahrain in 2002, he was also resident in Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Kuwait.
